Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam launched a harsh attack on the party, citing the ideological shift within the organization and raising concerns for the future of Indian democracy.
He stated that the Congress was moving away from the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi toward the teachings of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam launched a harsh attack on Congress at an event in Haryana
“This is no longer Mahatma Gandhi’s Congress. It is currently going in the direction of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It is extremely regrettable for our nation, the Constitution, and democratic principles,” Krishnam stated in remarks to the media on Sunday during the ‘Yuva Sanatan Sansad’ event in Haryana.
Acharya Krishnam, who was earlier this year expelled from the Congress, highlighted the close ties between India and Sanatan Dharma, stating that “Everyone born in India is Sanatani. It does not matter how one worships; India and Sanatan are inextricably linked. One who does not belong to Sanatan cannot belong to India.”
He emphasized that India’s spiritual legacy holds the key to its future, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies are guiding the nation toward becoming a global leader known as Vishwaguru.
Krishnam also highlighted the contribution of Maharshi Dayananad Saraswati and advocated him to be honored with the Bharat Ratna.
“Maharshi Dayanand’s contributions to society and religion deserve Bharat Ratna,” he said.
When asked about the pollution of the Yamuna River, Acharya Krishnam said, “This is not just about the Yamuna. For us, rivers like the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati are sacred. We regard them as our mothers. Their cleanliness and free flow are of utmost importance.”
He stated that in order to guarantee the sanctity and purity of these rivers, the federal government as well as the state governments have to take decisive action.
In response to a query concerning Congress’s defeat in the Haryana elections, he applauded the state’s citizens, stating, “Haryana has provided guidance to the entire country. Thank you to the people of Haryana for casting their votes decisively and in the best interests of the country.”
