“I won’t bother if not made a minister,” said Nitin Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari reaffirmed on Thursday, that he had received an ‘offer’ to become the nation’s next prime minister from a ‘senior opposition leader’ after the Lok Sabha elections as well, days after he had claimed to have been contacted with such a proposal prior to the Lok Sabha elections.

Nitin Gadkari claimed that he was offered Prime Ministerial post by the opposition after the general elections as well

“I received proposals both prior to and following the Lok Sabha elections,” the union minister stated during India Today’s Mumbai summit.

The former president of the BJP went on to say that he had no plans to become prime minister.

“I questioned them, ‘Why do you want me to be prime minister and why shouldn’t I be with prime minister Narendra Modi? Thus, I have no desire to be prime minister,” Gadkari said.

“I have not supplied my biodata to anyone, nor am I a part of any race. I continue working on my project. I’m content with my situation. In addition to being an RSS member, I work for the party. If I’m not appointed minister, I won’t bother. I won’t be concerned, and I’ll keep working,” he continued.

In the meantime, on September 14, Gadkari made the initial mention of the “offer” at a function in Nagpur, his hometown and Lok Sabha seat.

“I told the leader of the opposition that I have a single ideology and conviction. I’m in a party that has provided me with everything I could have never imagined. I am not tempted by any deal,” he had stated.
