Earlier, Kiran Rao also expressed her gratitude for noticing her piece of hard work and giving her a chance to make her film reach a global audience.

“I’m overjoyed. I was not anticipating an Oscar entry given many good films have been made this year. Now we will get a chance to show our film to a much broader audience. I want to express my gratitude to the audience for loving this movie so much. I believe this movie has something to offer everyone,” she said.

She recognizes that the path to the Oscars will be difficult, even if she is eager to begin the trek.
