In Bharuch, Gujarat, on Sunday, a 30-year-old man sexually assaulted a 10-month-old girl. The accused reportedly sexually assaulted the victim while bringing her to his house.

According to the authorities, the infant was playing with her grandma when the man from Panoli village took her away.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Kushal Oza claimed that the baby was in the courtyard with her grandmother and the man came over and promised to give her wafers in his home. The official continued, “The man then assaulted the girl sexually not far from his house.”
“Her grandma discovered the girl bleeding from cuts on her private parts when she heard her cries and rushed there. The Bharuch Civil Hospital received her urgently. The offender was taken into custody following the filing of a rape and sexual assault case in accordance with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, inspector Oza told PTI.
The accused man was taken into custody by enraged villagers and handed over to the police. According to authorities, the man was the baby’s parents’ friend, and he used to visit their house often to play with the child, as NDTV reported.
The infant was brought to the hospital by her mother, who is a restaurant employee. Due to the severity of her injuries and extensive bleeding, the condition of the infant worsened, the report added.
Legal processes surrounding a case registered under the BNS and POCSO Acts are presently under progress. Soon, the man will be brought before the court.
