Second attack on Donald Trump within the span of two months

Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, was the scene of the shooting. According to local law enforcement officials, a “person of interest” with a weapon has been taken into custody, as reported by the New York Times.

Trump was reportedly playing golf when the gunfire was heard, according to numerous media accounts. When the bullets were fired, Trump’s Secret Service protection team was with him.

The identity and motivation of the shooter or shooters remained unknown. As of right now, there was no sign that Trump was the target. According to media outlet CNN, which cited sources from the security service officials, reported that Trump was the target of the gunshots at the golf club.

Involvement of AK-47

Donald Trump Jr., the son of the former US president, claimed that investigators had also discovered an AK-47 rifle in the bushes, very near to the location from which Trump was departing.

“Again folks! Shots were fired at the Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. According to local law enforcement, an AK-47 was found in the bushes,” Jr. Trump wrote in a post on X (previously Twitter).

Kamala Harris and Joe Biden on the incident

The White House swiftly released a statement claiming that the event had been discussed with both Vice President Joe Biden and President Kamala Harris, Trump’s Democratic opponent in November.

The statement read, “They are relieved to know that he is safe.”

The attack occurred barely two months after a gunman opened fire during a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, injuring the former president in the ear.

Following the Pennsylvania incident, the US Secret Service, which has been charged with safeguarding presidents, previous presidents, and other dignitaries, came under fire.
