Chandigarh: Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday warned chief minister Bhagwant Mann not to waste state funds on the Aam Aadmi Party’s growth and campaigns in the state of Haryana, in light of Punjab’s worsening financial situation.

Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa alleged Bhagwant Mann’s government of misusing Punjab’s fund for AAP election campaign in Haryana

Bajwa said that the Punjab government, led by the AAP, had mismanaged crores of rupees from the public purse in order to fund the party’s top leaders for election campaigns in states such as Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and a few other states.

It is impossible to completely decline the possibility of the AAP exploiting the state finances, given its decision to run for all 90 seats in Haryana in the next assembly elections, according to Bajwa.

The state’s finances have been in turmoil for the past 2.5 years as a result of the Punjab government’s dishonesty, poor oversight, and negligence. The government is out of money to pay public employees’ salaries and pensions because it has already reached its borrowing limit. For the remainder of the fiscal year, the state is requesting an increase in the borrowing cap, according to Bajwa.
