PM Modi used to trek through Himachal Pradesh to recruit new BJP members

At the beginning of the BJP’s nationwide membership drive on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on his time spent in Himachal Pradesh.

PM Modi made a special mention of Himachal Pradesh in his speech

The BJP constitution mandates that the party take on new members every five years. Covid-19 caused a delay in the drive. Everyone, from the PM to booth-level employees, ceases to be a BJP member on the eve of the drive launch and needs to re-enroll.

“I vividly recall my time spent in Himachal Pradesh, when I would have to walk all day to go to a single village. I would be handed a hot cup of tea when I arrived. I’m still feeling that cup’s warmth,” recalled Modi as JP Nadda made him the first member upon the launch of the party’s membership campaign.

During the membership time, the PM asked party cadres to drive and take on difficult tasks like enrolling individuals in remote places, particularly tribal areas.

Speaking about his own time in the organization and his treks through Himachal Pradesh to recruit new members, Modi set high standards for the party, which set out to go beyond the 18 crore members it already has.

He instructed BJP members to register whole border villages and turn them into “BJP fortresses.”

Modi further instructed the party to organize targeted enrollment campaigns for individuals aged 18 to 25 to join the saffron fold.

“I don’t view young people only through an electoral lens. They seem to me to be the cornerstones of the Viksit Bharat by 2047 objective. It is often said that the BJP is an election machine, yet this is the greatest insult we can receive. We are not a voting apparatus. Elections are only a byproduct of our laborers’ diligence. We serve as our people’s dreams’ water and fertilizer. Modi added, “We have to prepare the next generation to keep the nation first because we are the flag bearers of the nation first ideology.” He then asked the BJP to start membership drives in the weakest booths, where the party received the fewest votes in the election.

The PM asked BJP leaders to overcome their doubts about bringing in new talent in.

What will happen to them if new blood arrives is a question that many people ask. We’ll need fresh energy from newcomers to accomplish our ambitious goals. At an event held today at the BJP headquarters here, Modi addressed the party members, saying, “And we must remember that we will move up when we induct new people below us.”

In addition, he requested that the party organization to reach the beneficiaries of the government’s housing schemes and enroll them as members.
