Samit Dravid, the famous Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid’s son, made a further step in following in the footsteps of his father when he was selected for the India Under-19 team for the Australia series. Samit’s outstanding recent results in the domestic arena earned him a spot in the India under-19 squad for multi-format series against Australia. The three-match one-day series will take place in Puducherry on September 21, 23, and 26, and India will be led by Uttar Pradesh’s Mohammad Amaan.

Rahul Dravid’s son, Samit Dravid secured a position in India Under-19 team for the Australia series

Samit expressed his happiness over the honor. In a video shared by Star Sports Kannada, he stated: “First of all, I am very happy to be selected and thank you for all your wishes. I feel like I’m in terrific shape. I worked very hard for this moment.”

After that, the series will head to Chennai for two four-day matches starting on September 30 and October 7. Madhya Pradesh’s Soham Patwardhan will head the Indian team for this leg of the tour.

Samit, a pace bowling all-rounder is playing for Mysore Warriors in the ongoing KSCA Maharaja T20 trophy in Bengaluru.

But he hasn’t bowled in the tournament and his batting performances thus far have been lackluster, with a best of 33 runs from seven innings.

However, Samit had a successful run in the Cooch Behar Trophy earlier this year, contributing significantly to Karnataka’s first-ever victory in the competition.

In eight games, the 18-year-old scored 362 runs, with his 98 against Jammu & Kashmir standing out for its excellence and fluidity.

In addition, Samit had an outstanding tournament with the ball, taking down 16 opponents in eight games—two of which came against Mumbai in the final.
