17 August, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met on Saturday. Along with Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani, he met with the Prime Minister.

PM Modi was congratulated by Naidu for important announcements made during the budget, such as the ₹15,000 crore allotment for the development of Andhra Pradesh.
The leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) briefed the prime minister on the financial situation of Andhra Pradesh and asked for further backing from the federal government to address the state’s budgetary issues, stimulate the economy, and raise GDP.
Andhra Pradesh’s public debt increased over the previous five years, from 31.02 percent of the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in 2019–20 to 33.32 percent in 2023–24, according to government figures.
On his second day of the visit to the nation’s capital, Naidu is expected to meet with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Home Minister Amit Shah.
During the Independence Day speech on Thursday, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh stated that his government is also preparing its Vision for a developed Andhra Pradesh by 2047, inspired by Centre’s ambitious plan of “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
With 16 MPs, the Telugu Desam Party is a significant ally of the NDA government headed by Prime Minister Modi. The TDP secured 135 seats in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, while the BJP secured eight seats and the Jana Sena Party, led by Pawan Kalyan, secured 21 seats.
