4 August, Gurugram: A spokesman for the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) said today that a planned shutdown at the Chandu Budhera water treatment plant will cause a 36-hour total disruption in the water supply to many portions of Gurugram.
On Monday, the closure will start at 10 a.m., and it might go until 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The non-return valve (NRV) needs to be replaced, a water supply pipeline at Bakhtawar Chowk needs to be moved, and GMDA crews need to perform maintenance at the Chandu Budhera water treatment facility. All of these tasks require the shutdown, according to GMDA officials.
The water supply in Dayanand Colony, Old Gurugram, Laxman Vihar, New Colony Booster, Choti Mata Booster, Sectors 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 33, 34, 37C, 37D, 81 to 115, and Boosting Station Sector 51 (all sectors from 42 to 74 and Badshahpur village) will face completely shutdown of water for 36 hours, according to GMDA authorities.
They went on to say that locals in these locations should use water cautiously during this time.
