Nayel Nassar, the son-in-law of Microsoft tycoon Bill Gates, will compete for Egypt at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Nassar, 33, is wed to Jennifer, the eldest daughter of Melinda and Bill Gates, whom he first encountered while competing in horseback riding. Nayel Nassar, a professional rider, will compete in the Olympic equestrian jumping competition this year.

Nassar is registered to compete in the solo equestrian jumping competition.

He qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Final and performed for Egypt in the London Summer Olympics in 2012.

Being an expert in the field, Nassar’s passion for riding started at a young age – he started riding horses at the age of five and started jumping at the age of ten. The 33-year-old American Egyptian was raised in Kuwait after being born in Chicago.

Melinda French Gates, his mother-in-law, gave him some advice. “I’m quite eager to watch Nayel Nassar perform in the Olympics. I’m cheering you on,” she posted to Instagram.

It’s unclear if Melinda and Bill Gates will travel to Paris for the Olympics.
