Recently, a reputed media channel from Japan visited Haryana and saw the work being done by AHTU of the State Crime Branch to reunite missing children and women with their families. This Japanese media channel did coverage based on the work done by Haryana Police and best practices in this direction, which was telecast in countries around the world. This has given Haryana Police recognition at the international level. Haryana Director General of Police congratulated the AHTU of the State Crime Branch for this and boosted their morale.
Haryana Director General of Police, DGP Shri Shatrujit Kapoor said that Haryana Police is making active efforts to identify the missing persons and reunite them with their families. Going beyond the call of duty, Haryana Police teams are performing their duty well and are working in the spirit of humanity and philanthropy. Appealing to the general public, DGP Shatrujit Kapoor said that our police force is committed with full dedication to trace the missing persons and bring them home safely. He said that if any relative of any person is missing then please do not hesitate to contact the nearest police station or inform the emergency number 112 so that necessary steps can be taken in time.
The DGP further said that Haryana Police is making continuous efforts to search for the missing persons. These campaigns are mostly run with the help of Child Welfare Committee and other concerned departments. Giving information about the process of locating and reuniting a large number of missing persons and children by Haryana Police, he said that our police teams are visiting institutions like shelter homes, apart from bus stands, railway stations and various other places to search for missing children and persons. She also visits public places like religious places.
Sharing the figures, Additional Director General of Police, State Crime Branch, Haryana, Mamta Singh said that from January 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024, Haryana Police, with the joint efforts of AHTU and District Police, has found 790 missing boys and girls under the age of 18 years, 18 3489 boys and girls above the age of one year, 433 beggars and 273 bonded labor children have been rescued.
DGP said that mediums like social media are a powerful medium to find missing persons across the world. It will take us only a few seconds to circulate posts detailing missing persons. This message can make an important contribution in reuniting a missing person with his family. He appealed to the general public to share information about such missing people and children on their social media accounts so that any such missing children can be reunited with their families as soon as possible.
