Immense employment opportunities in sign language: Vice Chancellor

May 14 2024,Chandigarh – Vice Chancellor of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Prof. While interacting with the students at the Center for Disability today, Rajbir Singh said that there are immense employment opportunities in sign language. After learning sign language, a better career can be made in other fields including education, social service sector, government institutions, corporate, health, medical and law.

The Vice Chancellor visited the Center for Disability Center and interacted with the students in the classes conducted there. The Vice Chancellor talked to these special students about their life objectives and career. The Vice Chancellor said that in today’s time, sign language has special importance, by mastering it, there are golden opportunities for employment in the country as well as abroad.

He motivated the students learning sign language to get hold of the language and learn Hindi, English as well as other languages. He said that being expert in understanding and interpreting signals can open new career paths. He said that by becoming an interpreter through sign language, an important contribution can be made towards including the deaf and mute population in the mainstream of the society. He received feedback about the department from the students.

Dr. Pratima Ranga, Director of the Center for Disability Center, informed the Vice Chancellor about the courses run in CDS and future plans.
