Mumbai, May 3 – In a recent interview, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s talked about his decision to tell a story about Muslim characters in Lahore in his first streaming series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
Bhansali said, “I got a lot of love from Pakistan, people were eagerly waiting for it, waiting for it to be told. This is a series that somehow brings us all together.”
Bhansali further added, “These people are as much theirs as they are ours. I feel they belong to both of us and both countries are ultimately showing a lot of love for the show that is being made. I still feel that we are all one I still think we are all connected in many ways. There is a lot of love on both sides, except for some people who would like to create issues, but they are less important.”
